    Hello all -

I have begun to get into cellaring quite a few beers...One thing I am not sure about, is recreating this experience and local bars/restaurants. There are a couple nearby that do multiple Darkness tastings (2012, 2013) etc... Next year they will do a 2012, 2013, 2014 tasting... Do you get the same benefits of aging keg beers as you do with bottles? Is it worth paying a higher premium for these beers on draft?

Couldn't find a whole lot on this topic when searching the forums...

    Thanks!

i recently had founders kbs 2013 (about a month ago) on tap at a local craft bar...i can honestly say that it was worth the 10 dollars for the 9 oz pour...i think kegs and bottles can be aged alike

I had a 2012 Backwoods Bastard on tap and thought it was awesome. As was Doom.

Now, I've never had Stone's IRS fresh, but a bar here had a bunch of vintages of stuff on tap for their anniversary party, and I had a glass of 2007 IRS. 8$ pour, and it's one of the best stouts I've had. Exceptionally smooth and chocolaty.

Had a 2008 batch of prominent local barleywine on tap last night, and it was sublime! As said, keg or cask aging can be preferable over bottle aging, but similar situation. As long as the vessel is well sealed, inert, and the beer is kept from light and heat you're good to go.

In the city? Mind sharing where? I admit I don't know the NYC beer scene as well as I'd like and I'd love to know a place that offers things like that.

One of the local breweries had a 05' barleywine on tap a few weeks ago for an anniversary event. I didn't get to try it but I heard it was pretty awesome.

Back in December 2012, I attended one of stones vertical epic events. Had 03.03.03 through 12.12.12 all on tap (Sadly no 02.02.02) and while I prior to then never had 03-07, they still tasted great.
