I had a 5 year old BB about a year ago. I loved it.

At two and three years the Burton Baton was not oxidized at all, and I found it tastier than fresh, as it was sweeter.

I have had Burton aged 1 year and 2 years. It was drinkable but I preferred it fresh. DFH says it is ageable but that doesn't necessarily mean it will improve.

Renewing this thread. One of my local stores has a cellared section and has 2009 Burton Baton bottles out now for $9. I love this idea (and while that may seem expensive it's really only double the cost of the current bottles). Have enough other beer expenditures so haven't done purchased one but I might. Anyone approached 3+ yrs for this beer?

Buying a 2009 Burton for $9 is a no-brainer, not like it's a big investment and it would be a good experience whether you dig it or not. That said I'm sure it's past its prime, I am thinking 12 to 18 months is the sweet spot for Burton personally

Had a 2 year old bottle, dug it. Did a side by side with a 2 year old Gains Stout. Definitely preferred the BB.

I've aged this beer a few times up to 2 years. I like it most between 12-18 months.

I tried a 5 year old one a couple years ago. It was too candy sweet for me but others seemed to enjoy it. I think 8-12 months the best if you're aging it.

I've had a 3 year old BB. I loved it, I think it balances out more with age. However, not sure I'd age it beyond that.
