Looking for some input here. I have access to a bunch of dogfishhead 120 minute bottled in 2012. Is this something people might be looking for, any idea on trade value? Just wondering if i should snag a bunch and post some for trade. I have made a good amount of trades, but most of the time it is for fresh hops, and honestly DHF 120 isn't my favorite beer so i would probably be buying extra just to trade them. Again just looking for some input/ opinions. Maybe some ideas what i should be looking for in trade. Thanks for reading!
It's really not worth much more than $4$ like fresh 120 or other shelf beers. Distribution is pretty wide and at most you can probably trade a few at a time given the price point. I honestly would spend your money elsewhere and find some great beer that you want drink. FWIW, I still have about a case of 2012 and I trade a few occasionally, but have also given them as extras in trades.
There really isn't a huge demand for aged 120. I'm sure you could line-up a trade or two for some good locals from others, but you shouldn't buy them expecting to trade for beers with "high trade value".
@Evmo31 - I just had a 2013 the other day, and I liked it a lot better than the fresh stuff. If you were able to snag a couple of the 2012's and wanted to trade for some Wisconsin locals, I'd be interested in a small trade...
Personally, I prefer it fresh to aged. I also absolutely love that beer so I'd be all over it regardless of the year.
aged 120 may not hold a lot of value, but damn they taste good(better than fresh IMO)..had a 2012 for NYE, and it was awesome!
