Just a silly survey of to see if young folks likes hoppy better than old? or just a boring survey...

I think most people do. It usually follows a pattern: the IPA's are everything along with other intense styles, the palate develops and appreciation for gentler styles grows but realize they still love IPAs.

I would've broken down another level below <35. I think that there are a lot of hopheads under 25, but that was right around the age that I broke into other styles, and I've found it similar to many my age.

This isn't super useful without knowing the age breakdown of BA as a whole. At least according to your stated purpose.

it just depends on when you start drinking craft beer. the sooner you start, the sooner you will like the more intense styles IMO.

True but as a general rule of thumb for new craft drinkers it seems to be the way, they need to start big.

oh I agree with yea I still see mostly the young crowd hitting the IPA's first. Or just new to craft beer at whatever age now. mainly because almost everyone makes a IPA now.

oh I did not want to know exact ages, was just for fun. besides I did not want to evade the privacy folks ages. heck I not even going to care one way or another. Just sick of watching NOLA getting flooded on TV and figured I post some silly poll.

There should be some further breakdown but hell this is a beer site not a consumer survey breakdown  Im 23 and have been into hoppy beers for about 2 years. That being said Ive been drinking craft beer since 17. In Germany I got into beer but was wholly unable to enjoy hops. It developed with time as I would imagine most people's did.

Don't get these surveys about age and education and do you have a beard. Seems to me the undercurrent is "aren't we hip and young and cool"?

Some BAs need to get out from among their own little circles more. Most hobby groups don't fall into neat little categories of people and beer geeks are no different. The beer bars I visit have quite a diverse mix of old, young, white collar, blue collar, men, women, beards, clean shaven---you name it.

I started out hating hops, to the point SNPA was just too much for me. Now I can enjoy the hoppiest of hoppy beers. Just takes a while for your palate to acclimate. But the older/later you start getting into hoppy beers the less likely you'll be able to make the adjustment IMO.

How dare you sir...BA is not for fun. This is serious, serious business we are dealing with here. I have a good mind to berate you unmercifully in a way I would never even consider speaking to a complete stranger if I was face to face with them.

In which case we're old enough that our palates have become increasingly insensitive to blistering hop loads, perhaps.

why do you think that? I am curious. I would think we would experience hops differently but not because of age.

I don't think this survey is going to give you a good answer to your question. I would be willing to bet that most BA users are under 35.
