So I'm gonna pick up a 6er of left hand wake up dead nitro (10% RIS). What would happen if I stuck a couple in the cellar? How do nitro beers hold up?

Has there really been any previous nitro packaged beers that are of high enough ABV to age?

Most are Irish stouts and English Pale Ales.

Ya I'm not really sure there has. That's why I'm curious as to what would happen

I cannot see how nitro beers would age any different. The CO2 has no effect on beer aging beer overall so cannot see how nitro would be any different. Was going to age some myself if it reaches Maine. Try one or two. It not gonna get worse. Testing new beers is how we learn. Try and share results..

I've got a Nitro Wake Up Dead that has been in the cellar for a year so far...when I open it this winter I'll let you know how it is. I can tell you that the Nitro Milk Stout is still drinking good at 6 months in the cellar.

Love that beer. I will be intersted to see the results. Nitrogen and CO2 are both relatively inert, but Nitrogen a little moreso. I think that Nitro beers might age just a little slower. The 6-packs (4 packs?) of Left Hand RIS are a raging bargain too.
