I just received my first The Lost Abbey's The Angels Share. Should I drink it now or age it a bit? Your thoughts please.

I drank the one I had pretty fresh, and it was excellent. I can't speak for how it tastes aged, but don't fear freshness!

I had it fresh on draft and it was good.

I never wanted to roll the dice on a bottle due to their issues with (lack of) carbonation, so can't speak for bottles

Agreed, dont be afraid of fresh. I found 3 bottles. I drank one right away and cellared the other two. It was fantastic fresh.

"Some like it hot and some sweat when the heat is on, some feel the heat and decide that they can't go on, some like it hot but you can't tell how hot till you try"-PowerStation/Robert Palmer

    I say drink it.

I've aged AS before and had it fresh and can say with authority that I myself do not think it gets much better with age. Older softens the barrel flavors, more smoothly integrates sweet and heat, but other than that it is pretty much the same beer only older.

I have had several aged bottles of Angel's Share and find that aging it does very little to the taste. You could probably age this beer forever and it wouldn't change much (and you don't have to worry about it losing any carbonation). All that being said, just drink it.

Thank you for your replies. It goes into the review/consumption queue - which means it's up in about 2 weeks. I've got a few time sensitive beers I need to review first. Thank you all, again.

Great to see this string, as I was just in San Diego on vacation and went to the Lost Abbey/Port brewery for a visit and brought this back in my suitcase (along with a Stone IRS and Arctic Devil BW) and was going to age it. It sounds like the consensus is to drink it now.
