I've searched a lot, and can't find any actual ACCOUNTS of anyone experiencing Stone's Arrogant Bastard with some age on it. Has anyone out there tried this? Does Arrogant Bastard stay good for any extended period of time in typical cellar conditions (total darkness and say about 50~55 degrees), or does anyone think it even improves? I'm curious because I love this beer, and it seems to have a very complex, multi-dimensional taste (and also because I'll probably never have access to more obviously cellarable Double Bastard).

Just FYI, you can certainly trade for Double Bastard quite easily. I'm sure some Midnight Sun stuff would make it happen.

I'm coming up to anchorage on the 11th of may and I could possibly squeeze a double bastard in my luggage if you want

I haven't had aged AB, but I've had a few Oaked AB and was pretty dissapointed. I expected this to age well, but the result just tasted bland and a little oxidized.

This here is the problem. Realize that when you age a beer, you're not improving it. you're simply making it taste different.

I wouldn't age arrogant bastard because of the lower ABV. Double Bastard, sure. Arrogant? No thanks.

I appreciate the encouragement about acquiring some Double Bastard, and jaminjohnson, that's very kind of you to offer, but I don't live in Anchorage, and wouldn't ask someone to go to the trouble anyway.

Interesting to hear that the oaked version didn't hold up well. If that one didn't, I'd assume the regular one wouldn't either. But my next question is this: Does Arrogant Bastard at least have a longer life than IPAs do? Like, would an Arrogant Bastard still taste good if it were one year old? Or is it like other delicate hop-centered beers which go bad really quick? I'll really appreciate any more answers poeple can offer.
