Has anyone here had experience aging Founders Breakfast Stout? Did you find that it improved the beer, or did it just mellow the flavors in a way that denigrated the beer's natural characteristics?

It doesn't improve it, but it's not horrible either.

Any more than a year, the coffee flavor dissipates. I have had a 1 year old breakfast stout, it still tasted very good, but not as coffee flavored

In my experience, the coffee drops off, but then the chocolate comes out more. Depends on your preference.

The first time I had this beer it was a year old bottle and I could not figure out what all the fuss was about. Just had a fresh one from the latest batch and I get it now. Don't age it.

After drinking through a half of case throughout the year, and drinking a fresh one from this year, I smacked myself in the face for trying to age these. Fresh is the way to go! Drink up!

Some times you have to see for yourself. To be honest, I thought I'd drink them more during the year, but have so much beer that it got lost. Now I make it a point to drink them and only buy what I can consume rather quickly. Cheers!

I completely agree, and it's part of the fun of aging things. Cheers!

If your preference is a chocolate stout over a coffee stout, you should probably buy a chocolate stout, not a coffee stout.
