A local brewery in NC just released a 13% abv Stout in a 12oz can (Night Jump from Aviator). Is there any difference between aging in bottles versus cans?

Got me 3 cans of that goodness in my cellar right now! Under pressure and absolutely no light, I'd say it's better than a bottle. Stay the course and hide it as best as you "can"

Nope, I've aged cans of Oscar Blues Ten Fidy.

Why would you think there would be? Seriously, it's an aluminum shell. Zero light.

Older cans leached a metallic taste into beer if they were left to sit for long enough, so it is a perfectly reasonable question. I believe that more modern cans have solved that issue, though, so it should be fine.

I haven't intentionally aged a can, but I've picked up Ten Fidy from a store at 1 year+ and it's been great.

Got several different canned stouts sitting. Works just the same.

Cans can age indefinitely; if you are health conscious at all you should take into consideration that cans are lined with plastic which leaches BPA into your beer over time. BPA breaks down into synthetic estrogen which, again over time may give you some awesome milking man udders. Just something to consider. That said I have a few cans (4?) of some one off barleywines and stouts I'm aging just for giggles. I know from experience taste will be fine, I'm just worried about the subsequent estrogen-fueled chick flick marathon I'll get myself into after drinking them
