I purchased a four pack of these from 2014 about a week after bcbs release and I'm still aging two of them as they were initially a bit too boozey for me. I was wondering if anyone out there has had experience aging these and what their outcome was, cheers!

I've aged them for years & the results have been mixed. I can't recall off the top of my head, but some have been good for years, & some have developed a rather unpleasant dry, chalky edge to them. The current year is thicker than previous years; I'd expect it not to change much for a year or possibly more.

Thank you they're 6 months old this month and I heard that is a good to open and I've also heard that it's better to wait a full year..

I did a 4 year vertical of this and they get better with age. Fresh is quite boozy, 2 years still had some heat and plenty of bourbon, 3 years was great with lots of vanilla, 4 years was getting a bit thin for me but still have some nice flavors.

Someone in our tasting group was advised by the brew master that his preference was 24-30 months. I like 18-24.

When 14 came out we 14-13-12 side by side and it was unanimous 13 was the best followed by 14 and 12 had definitely fallen off. I buy at least a case a year and definitely drink them with a 2 year window in mind. I had a 13 just last week and it was amazing. For me personally 18 months is the sweet spot.

I opened a 2011 a while back on it was a bit thin. Still had a nice barrel character and vanilla, less hot and less full than 2014. Overall I preferred it fresh, but I'm going to age the 2014 for 1-2 years to see what happens.
