Just looking to get a conversation going about aging in the fridge as opposed to aging at the usual recommend cellar temps.

Over the last few years I have accumulated a respectable number of bottles and for a couple of reasons I just haven't been comfortable aging or cellaring anywhere else other than my extra fridge.

I understand that they will oxidize at slower rates due to the lower temps and almost no exposure to light.

More or less I'm just looking for some feedback about your success as well as failures with refrigerator cellaring.

Thanks for anything you guys have.

I cellar in a fridge, around 45 degrees. It really slows aging, but other than that no real problems.

What if you have been aging in a fridge and want to free some room up and just cellar? Is there any harm in removing bottles from the refrigerator and putting them in the basement? We're probably talking a 15-20 degree increase.

I have never had issues moving beer from the fridge (48 degrees) to cellar temp (58-62 degrees). Going from "really cold" to "cold" isn't going to ruin things. Going from cold to very warm - that's another question.

For the sake or conversation . . . if a beer is aged at cellar temp for two or three years. What is the equivalent amount of time that same beer would have to age in the fridge for the similar results ?
