I couldn't find any info on aging a nitro beer. I have a 4pk of Wake Up Dead Nitro that I don't see myself finishing anytime soon. Would tucking this away for about a year yield any good results or would I be killing this beer?

Here's a good tip. Before considering aging anything, ask yourself why you want to age it? What makes you think the beer will get any better or any different when you age it.

What didn't you like about the beer?

I thought it was still a bit harsh even though the nitro smoothed it out a bit better than the original. There was a noticeable boozy flavor I thought might mellow out with some age. I was curious on how nitrogen would take age compared to regular carbonation.

I don't know that beer and so have no particular opinion on how well it would age, but I will give you two general thoughts.

First, imperial stoits are generally decent beers to hold in a cellar. Some might improve greatly, but even those that may not won't falloff a flavor cliff immediately. If you are talking about one year, I would have to think it would be fine even if it didn't greatly improve.

Second, nitro shouldn't have any negative effect. It is an inert gas, so I do not think it should affect the beer one way or the other.
