I was curious if people do this and what the outcome is. Generally an abv of 5.5% to 7% i would think to age but since its more malt foward in the style, would aging just add to a much sweet profile?

I don't think it would really improve with age, since a proper O'Fest should have been well aged before packaging and is probably at peak then. But if you store it cold, it probably won't deteriorate either.
Then again, there aren't very many (if any) O'Fest beers brewed true to the old tradition of long aging, especially here in the States.

Being a type of lager, I'm not sure if it will benefit much from aging, can't hurt to try though, most Oktoberfests are fairly inexpensive.

Having had a few at over a year, there's not a big change. It's not going to do them any better, but they won't die out either unless you're just forgetting about them for a decade.

I've aged victory festbier, penn oktoberfest and Sam adams oktoberfest all one and two years.

Drastic difference on all of them. The sam improved incredibly and it tasted like a low abv old ale with tons of butterscotch.

The other two I wouldn't necessary say improves but certainly changed. The victory festbier did taste a ltitle oxidized after 2 years though.
