Hello, I'd like some insight. I'm currently aging an Abbey Ale by Ommegang (one of my favorites) at about 55-60 degrees. The thing is, I don't have a basement, or suitable equivalent, so I'm aging it in a wine fridge. From what I've gathered, aging capped beers horizontally can be problematic at times, so is that an issue I have to worry about? I'm only it aging it 2 years (the brewmaster recommended 1-3yrs), so do I have to worry since I'm not aging it for a overly long period of time? Thank you.

If you're aging it 2 years, then you'll be fine. If you're really concerned, rotate the bottle every month or so.

It's only 8% though. Is this beer going to hold up over time?

I use 2 wine fridges, but I took some shelves out so I could stand the bottles up. Doesn't fit as much that way but it's ideal conditions. Not sure how Abbey ale is aged though, I'd be interested to find out.
