Hello all... I’m fairly new to OH, I have heard in the past that people “age” their beer from them . Is this true ? I have always heard that you should drink craft beer fresh. Someone please shed some light on this subject.

Welcome to the BA site, blove004. I don't know anything about that brewery and whether they have a specialty to any beer style, and you did not mention what beer styles attract you to the brewery, so I can't be specific with an answer. However, hoppy beers should never be aged because the hop flavor degrades within a few months after bottling or canning. Most malty, dark styles that are over 8% alcohol can be cellar aged around 50 degrees to improve flavor. How long to age a beer will vary, so if you become active with a cellaring effort, you need to manage your collection and drink the beers before they go over the hill.

to add to @PapaGoose03 I know that with the neipa style (i think that's what other half is famous for but I also don't actually know the brewery) some people think that the super fresh examples can have a green taste or hoppy burn that fades to something more pleasant a week or two after bottling. If you want devotees of the brewery to weigh in you can repost your question in the brewery specific thread under the region where it is located

You would be better served if this was moved to the Mid-Atlantic forum.

Head brewer sam has been quoted as saying 6 months max for bottles, 8 weeks max for cans, always everything stored cold. that said, i had a 9 month old snowbirds 2, and it was possibly better than fresh.
