Oude Tart is one of my favorite beers. I have a few bottles left over from last year as well as a bunch from the latest batch and am planning on trying a side by side in the coming weeks but from what I have heard old Oude Tart is good stuff. I had it for the first time last year and am looking forward to seeing how the 2011's develop over the next few years.

New Brew Thursday did a show with Tyler from the Bruery and they drank three years of Oude Tart.

I'm curious about how this will age as well, since its only 2 years old, hard to tell longer term.

When it went on sale for the Reserve Society this year, the Bruery put cellarable for up to 5 years. I had one from the original release (pretty sure 2010) at DLD and thought it was great. I have a few from each of the releases and I was thinking at some point opening them up side by side....geez I feel like I have a lot of these beer plans that end up never coming to fruition :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong...but, wasn't Oude Tart released in 2009 and then again in 2011 and 2012?

Whatever the case, I've got a couple of bottles from each year and the 2009 (or, the first one, whatever the year) is one of the few beers that can take the age. It's great. Interestingly, my experience is that Oude Tart also ages nicely but still retains a great deal of the characteristics it has fresh.

That's correct, there wasn't a 2010 batch. I haven't opened a 2009 in a while, planning to do a vertical once I get my lazy ass up to the Bruery and pick up the last few months worth of allocations.

By pretty sure, I meant not really at all :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for the info! I couldn't remember and I didn't label the year on those since they have the old caps and I could tell which ones they were. Good to know.
