Hello all. These are probably the 2 beers I have the most of and in the case of R10 the easiest access to.

    1. Regarding the regular BCBS, what age do you like on yours. ? A least a year? I had a 2013 that tasted off, not terrible. Maybe is going through a rough period right now

    2. Regarding R10, it seems to sell so fast around here it's almost fresher than IPA's a lot of times. Is there a particular age that you guys feel this really gets good ? It just doesn't seem to knock my socks off like it used to .

BCBS probably 1-2 years. 3 is fine. 4 is on the decline.

R10 I'm not sure. I bought a case of 2009 from a guy a couple years ago so I've been drinking it from 3-5 years old and it doesn't seem to be changing much. Not sure if aging it really accomplishes anything.

R10 can go virtually forever. I've had it at oldest nine years and it was still the perfect quad it is fresh.

I prefer BCBS as fresh as possible, within a few months of bottling. Though 2013 BCBS shouldn't start to fall off until after 2020. I'm really curious to see just how long it will last.

Aging Rochefort 10 out to 2 years didn't do much for me; I'm going to wait until my last bottle is 5 before opening it.

BCBS is really good from 1 to 2 years, after that I have no experience.

I've got multiples of 09 and 10 BCBS, and they're drinking fantastic right now.. I'd be willing to be that anyone who says BCBS falls off after 1-2 years has absolutely no experience with it, and is basing their comments on those who say KBS is best fresh.

I just dipped backed into a stash of R10 with ~ 3 1/2 years on it, and it has settled in beautifully, everything rounded off well. It's not a dramatic difference either from fresh (which I have often-ish, at bars and such) or from a year or two ago, last time I disturbed the cobwebs around that particular case. But it's getting to what I had in mind when I cellared it.

Did a vertical of 2006-2012 right before 2013 was released and the 3-4 year window was tasting the best.
It's a fantastic beer at any age but after 4 years it had noticeably started to fall off.
2006 was certainly not a drain pour or anything.

Had a 5 year old R10 at Kulminator in Antwerp. Obviously it was aged in perfect conditions, but it was insanely good.

Last Black Friday I had a 2007 BCBS and it was amazing. Going forward I intend to keep 8 bottles from each year and drink one a year.
