Planning on starting homebrewing once I have my new basement kitchen up and running later this summer....bringing us to the question AHA or BA? I plan on attending the GABF for the first time year and see both have early access to tickets/private session. I also visit 5-10 breweries a year depending on the year, and there is mention of discounts/special offers for those also. In the end though, I am looking for a friendly and helpful community... appreciate your suggesions in advance!
Both. BA is my favorite homebrew forum by far. If you are planning on GABF I would suggest AHA so you can get in on the presale. I would suggest Thursday(1st choice) and Saturday afternoon if you plan on going to 2 sessions. I went to those two last year and got to try pretty much everything I wanted to. Two other suggestions if you have Friday open head to Boulder and check out Avery. Last year on Friday afternoon they were releasing awesome beers starting around the time they opened and tapped new stuff every couple hours. Try to stay near the convention center and book your hotel soon if you don't already have a place to stay. I paid a little extra to stay at the Oxford and it was well worth it. Within a short walk of some of the best beer bars in Denver and they offer a free town car service to anywhere within 2 miles. That includes the convention center and The Source(crooked staves bar/bottle shop). I think I ended up saving money by staying there because I didn't have to take a cab once. Edit: when I said BA is my favorite homebrew forum I meant Beer Advocate
BA is Brewers Association. The other BA. What Vike says. Or neither. Vast majority of homebrewers do not belong to any orginization at all. Cheers.
