popped in here on saturday afternoon with the wife and kids. sat down for a quick pint of Ahnapee Lager. pretty tasty. solid effort. unfortunately, antsy kids and angrywife forced me out the door for dinner and time on the beach so i didn't get a shot at the sampler flight. nice space. small. clean. cool extention off the main garage (bar) that looks like a mini-3 seasons room. $3 for a 12oz pour, $5 for a 20. $6 for four 5oz. pours. managed to stop back in after the kids were worn out to grab a growler for the road. opted for the Chocolate Milk Stout after having a sample. i would rate it as excellent. silky smooth, not too chocolatey but just enough. very easy drinker. $23 for the fill + glass (that i think he said they just got in that day.. or maybe the day before). definitely worth popping in if you're in the area. at around 35-40 minutes from GB i'll definitely be back. gotta get some more of that milk stout!
Are they releasing an Imperial version? I hadnt heard much about Ahnapee until I went to Brew Fest in Darboy on 11/1. Their Milk Chocolate Stout was voted best of the fest.
Dang...Cant make the hour drive today, but it sounds pretty tasty! Chocolate Milk Stout aged in Great Lakes Distillery whiskey barrels for over half a year.
