Nice—fully self-aware, too. Well done. Hello, world!

Actually I knew it probably wasn’t AI content because of the typos: “uniformed masses,” “ones will” etc. I doubt software designed to produce written content would let that kind of thing slide even if standard spell-check would.

I think you just created the policy. All you need to do is fluff it with some AI and post it on the official page to make it official.

It would be a very sad existence to be too lazy to review a beer!

Not to mention that it lacks soul!

AI writing is improving exponentially, but even the finest crafted autogenerated text can only offer so much to mask real feelings.

Usually a dead giveaway is when the review wants more hop “bytes”.

I read so-called reviews here all the time, supposedly written by humans, that serve no purpose other than being a lame attempt to maybe entertain the author of the post. An AI post may be an improvement. I have no problem with AI posts as long as it is identified as having been embellished or originated by AI.

I use it now and again to clean up my thoughts (usually when my brain fog is particularly bad). I can get words on paper with the best of them, but I struggle sometimes to express myself with all coherence.

I hate AI generated word barf as much as anyone, but I don’t consider these the same things.

Ummm. Well, this is awkward. The reason I've not been reviewing a lot of beers lately has nothing to do with my laziness. Really.

    But I'm not faking reviews.

    Yet.

To that I can only say that the lameness, the imperfection, of those reviews only reveals their human-ness. The entire point of reviewing beer (to me anyway) is to document in words the interaction between a specific person and a specific beer—for that reason every beer review is unique, even if many of them also happen to suck. AI might be better with language than most human beer consumers-writers, but it fails in one critical aspect: it has never actually tasted beer.

Ebay now has an AI option to post your auction. I wrote my auction and tried out the AI version one time. Pretty much all it did was take my words and fluff it up with a lot of extra word. I decided to try it out and it sold that day. Have not used it since. I have tried it a few more times but it just did not feel like a well written auction.

Is it wrong to write a vet review and let AI spruce it up?

    Enjoy

I wish I was more creative, I feel pretty repetitive in my descriptors. But then I drink another beer & get over it...

I’m not looking to date you, just read beer reviews.

As long as you drink the beer and the info in the review is yours I’m not going to freak out about AI sprucing it up if that’s what you want. The core info should be the same and I should take the same things away from both reviews. No one is getting paid here to write reviews so it really should not matter how your non AI review reads but I guess some want to appear as if they are better at writing.

    Enjoy

Just my opinion of course but I think this practice would have a homogenizing effect, and thus in subtle ways would take away from the true uniqueness of the reviews we read. Using AI to improve the text of an eBay listing is different because it’s being used for marketing/sales—BA beer reviews are not being written for that purpose, so I think they should be more raw and unpolished. For me that’s part of their “charm.”

At the end of the day I don’t know that I’d be able to tell the difference between a regular review and one that has been “enhanced” by AI, I just prefer to think that what I’m reading has not been filtered and tweaked by an app. Maybe people should just learn how to write better.

I do chuckle at some Ladies I know on Facebook, Girl, you didn't even look like that that 30 years ago... The only ones that should be allowed to use their pictures; Realtors. Apparently it was codified by Hammurabi or God.
