Headed to Albany this weekend for kids LAX tourney.
Heading to a cookout one day and wanted to stop and grab some beer, driving from Albany to Saratoga. Any suggestions of where to stop?
    Any local must try beers?
    Thanks in advance.

Also looking for a suggestion to grab some snacks for cookout. Any good local places to grab good cheese and meats?

Druthers downtown Saratoga. Decent brews nothing mind blowing. Worth trying, love their Berliner last summer

I'd hit up Oliver's Beverage in Albany, on Colvin Avenue, or Westmere Beverage in Guilderland on Western Avenue. Both owned by the same people "The Brew Crew" and both have great selections.

Savemore in Clifton Park is another great place to pick up some beer on the way to Saratoga. For sit down beer in Saratoga, you really can't beat Henry Street Taproom.

Primal in saratoga , Wilton mall area, is a butcher shop with great meat selection for a cookout. Putnam market is downtown and has meat and a cheese room.

Henry st and druthers are great. And if you want to avoid downtown try barrelhouse and the local on beekman st in art district

Check out the beer belly ( the bar, not my gut) in Albany. Great beer selection frequently rotated. Great Reuben sandwich

By "cheap" do you mean "free"? That's what is used to be. Plus tip of course.

Not free anymore. I think it is $5 for 5 or 6 wooden nickels

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I didn't get to use any of the Intel. We basically ran from the hotel to the tourney and back. Hit up Whole Foods for beers on the way to Lake Saratoga. Thankfully I was able to get some Two Hearted which I can't get at home.
    Thanks for the suggestions.

And the other way is the awesome Man of Kent in Hoosick, NY.
