    Hey all.

Planning an overnight stay on Saturday 4/7.

I haven't been up to VT in years and both HF and Alchemist have expanded/opened new breweries, so I don't know how the crowds are on weekends as compared to years ago.

    Alchemist
    - If I go there at open on a Saturday, are chances of getting cans still good? Are they still running out on a weekly bases like the old days?

    Hill Farmstead
    - How are crowds/How long is a typical wait time for a standard Saturday (ie no school vacation weeks or holiday weekends)?

Obviously I know we can't predict the future for a specific day, but assuming there are no special releases and it is a "normal" day of operations, can anyone give me some input?

    Thank you and God Bless!

No way do you miss out cans if you go at open, it's not like it used to be (in a good way). You'll be able to go in grab a small taster, look at merch, and grab a bunch of cans (and Cheddy Topper, which I recommend).

I haven't been on a Saturday in a while, but they're usually pretty crowded. When you get there, if you're grabbing cans/bottles, make sure to get a growler fill ticket first from the taproom (if there's a crowd). That wait can feel pretty long, but it's also not too bad when you have a glass of HF. Cans/bottles can sell out, but they've also been lasting into the following weeks lately.

I was just at Alchemist last Saturday (March 17). Arrived around 12:20 pm. Parking lot nearly empty, maybe 15 people milling about inside, absolutely no lineup to cash. With allotments I could have walked out with something like 136 cans of beer. YMMV

    Awesome.
    Thank you!

Was not sure if they still were running out like the old days.

Interesting, I was there on March 3rd. Arrived exactly at 12:00 and waited probably 20 minutes for cans and bottles in their retail building. There was a limit of 12 cans pp. Short wait for pints at 2pp, but but the tap room was pretty full. Enjoyed the atmosphere immensely as we were drinking our pints, and when were done, it was pretty much time to get our growlers filled! Cant wait to go back, and definitely the highlight of our VT craft beer weekend!

I believe @rejtable is referring to The Alchemist in the passage you quoted, while it sounds like you're discussing your experience at Hill.
