I'm curious if this has been traded recently, and for what. I assume it isn't around the Waterbury area for purchase any longer.
It was a brewery only, one time thing, late last year. Never in stores, sold out the day it was released.
I know I saw it trade plus some hard to find NE ipa for a 100% cuir. It's not a must try beer by any means in my mind. A lot more carbonated than I'd like for style. Had it side by side with Damon and Henry, and it was nowhere up to that quality but might take almost as much to acquire
I enjoyed Luscious just as much as I enjoyed Damon. I wouldn't directly compare KH to it. I did have Luscious after the release next to '09 BA Speedway and '07 Abyss and greatly preferred Luscious. I also had it in the lineup of a stout tasting and thought it held up well or better next to things like a few different BA Dark Lords (Cognac, Brandy Vanilla, Bourbon), Rare, and other assorted heavy hitters. Not sure what you mean by it being too carbonated. The mouthfeel is what makes the beer and it's always been smooth and velvety for me. I feel obligated to comment in every thread about Luscious
I'd have to check my beer notes (my reviews are hellah backlogged), but i'm 90% certain i felt this was like a lowly carbonated soda MF
Was one of the best beers i've had for the style and some in my tasting group thought it was better than CBS. The mouthfeel was Exceptional. The name describes it perfectly. Too bad the flood ruined the additional barrels of it.
I don't believe it ruined any other tanks full of Luscious. I think there were four tanks. Heretic and Luscious were salvaged. Another one was El Jefe? I forget the other one. Those two basically exploded beer out when they were opened.
Ahh, i thought i heard they lost some Luscious. Neat and sad story but i hope they make more Luscious some day, because it is damn good!
