Alchemist Tent Sale

So how many people are hitting Maine Beer at 8 AM for Dinner then high tailing it over to Vermont for Alchemist at 1?

 

With the speed the MBC line has moved, short of being one of the first in line, most people are going to have to pick one or the other. I'll imagine this might thin the herd some at MBC.

 

Looks like I'll be drinking down my seemingly growing stock of beer in the fridge to fit a case. Never been to one of these things... Lord help me.

 

Its always been a pretty laid back, fun experience. Enjoy it.

 

Question for you regular tent-sale attendees: are you able to also (with relative ease) grab Heady while there in the area? In quantity? I know most deliveries happen locally on Thursday and Friday's and are gone, but I feel like I've read that the Alchemist also has a nearby store stocked with Heady for these too. Am I wrong?

I ask, because obviously, I'm interested in trading for some Focal & Heady and want to consider what you guys have to do to fulfill my wishes and *offer appropriately. Thanks guys, wish I could make the trek myself!

What's the vibe like at the tent sales? Is it okay to sample and trade in line?

 

Heady isn't distributed on Saturdays, so unless someone goes up a day early it's unlikely that they'll be able to get any.

 

Although I suspect the tent sale may change the dynamics a bit, when I was in VT a month ago I found Heady friday night (CBC Waterbury) and Sunday evening (Hunger Mountain Coop).

IIRC, In the past, John has allocated a special shipment of Heady to CBC Waterbury for Tent Sale days. This may not be for every tent sale tho.

the man has handed out brew 3/4 time's i've been I think you can drink in line but don't quote me when it was 90+ out this summer I believe the security got a little cuntie about open cans FWIW

 

Word to the CBC allocation, 100 cases got dropped in the morning for the first truck drop.
I asked John if we could drink at one of the truck sales and he said that the samples were to discourage illegal open containers. Don't get made an example of if you decide to open something!

 

Drinking in the line is not cool. We don't need to screw a good thing up, just be glad a taster might be poured and get a coffee from the two local options you have by the station.

 

Drinking in line may or may not be cool but there sure were plenty of people doing it the last time I was at a truck sale.

 

Not every time. It may be worth contacting the CBC to see if they know if they are getting an extra shipment. They are typically pretty upfront.

There was plenty of drinking in the line the last time I went as well. I think the people doing it knew they shouldn't be though be their body language. Very dumb to put stuff like this at risk because not drinking for a couple hours is unacceptable to you.

 

I know you were probably just trying to provide information for others here, but there is no correction to be made...

Oh yeah, I definitely didn't want to break any rules. Some places allow it, is all. That's why I asked.

Anyone interested in a trade at all? I got Dark Lords going back to 09 as well as some BA Framinghammer and some other stuff.
