Lent ended on Saturday. So I had an alcohol free March (and part of February). That's enough.

Same here. Have done "Dry January" for a few years now -- if nothing else, it gives me a sense of accomplishment. The weight just doesn't seem to shed like snake skin these days. :slight_frown:

And fwiw that’s nine racks total. It not only looks better than just putting them in boxes but it also doesn’t dry out the corks.

Well I haven't had a drink since April began (was good on Easter), and with my wildcats in the national championship tonight that's going to change real quick. GO NOVA!

I stopped drinking for eight years. My marriage was on the rocks and I was being a crummy father to my kids so in order to get my life in order, and to show my wife that I was determined to make things work, I just stopped. It was really easy because I was really overdoing it and it didn't help dealing with the stresses of feeling trapped in a dead end job. So I started a long term dealing with putting things in order and once life began being really good again, including finding a great job, I started drinking moderately on the weekends, vacations and going out. So I missed a lot of the prime early craft beer years but my priorities were elsewhere.

With that binge, if you are able to quit for a month your liver will thank you.

I'm considering something similar, i've been trying to cut back to just weekends as it is. My wife doesn't drink as much as I do and I feel like an alkie with my kid and wife at home, even on the weekends... Sigh, growing old I guess

I'm a Patriots fan (I'm from MA). It was brutal. Pats never play close games. I think I allowed myself to have 1 cheat day for the AFC Championship game (I'm not THAT hardline about a break, i just tacked on an extra day). At least I got to drown my sorrows this past February with no sense of guilt....

True. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be but it definitely sucked. Also there isn't any holidays to celebrate in January and when the weather gets warmer (like April) it's always nice to have a beer after yardwork or whatever.

Don't have to stress drink during the NFL playoffs if your team stinks, and in the off chance they do make it aren't good enough anyway

No kidding. March is going to be setup like that every year if I keep going to Florida. I normally host March Madness weekend as well. I took February off last year. This month should be a breeze.

This page sounds like pre -cursor to AA. I thought this was Beer Advocate instead of a remorse thread.
