I'm not going alcohol free, but i started going to the gym yesterday. Went tonight too and still did crunches/pushups after. I'm gonna kill it this month and make up for my weakness (beer) and hopefully lose some weight before my wedding.

I would imagine that this would be tough if you drink beer every day. I probably drink beer 3-4 times a month unless I'm on vacation. Taking months off for me isn't that difficult. I also don't want to gain 100 pounds from beer.

I'll go along...except for the 'free' part. I could go 'full' instead.

Lately I've been drinking beers on the lower end of the ABV range...~5%. Reduced alcohol April is good enough for me .

Although it was still in the planning phases when this thread was started, I'm going to take next week off of the sauce, as I'll be doing a paleo/keto diet in the effort to not be so fucking fat any more. After that, I'm planning on keeping my carbs low, but not <100 g like I'll be doing next week. I haven't done something like this for a while. It's gonna suck.

I've heard a vicious rumor that beer has calories. As if. Not listed in the contents.

Precisely why I don’t drink during the week. Get those natural endorphins and dopamine flowing tenfold during the week. Only to ruin it by the weekend (in a good way )

Gotta be thankful it’s for physical reasons instead of psychological  Anxiety/panic attacks don’t mix well with the juice the morning after.

Keep the good habits goin though! Healthy rituals have a way of making a huge impression in lifestyle after a short while. Cheers man

Only ~ 2 weeks to go. This has been easier than I thought it was going to be.

This is my 11th day in and I've lost 10 lbs. First couple weeks are the easiest, then the weight comes off more slowly. Hope to lose another 10 by the time we head to NYC Memorial Day weekend. That'll get me somewhere in the 220 - 225 range at around 10% body fat. Reminds me why I don't do bodybuilding shows any more. This stuff is shite.

After a month off of work and totally abusing my body, I decided to jump head first into Whole30 with my wife. It was particularly tough as we started on a Monday, and on the Sunday before, I had just gotten back from a 5-day beer road trip that was nothing short of epic. I came home with almost three cases of beer in tow, most of it hops.

Today I'm sixteen days in and I feel damn good. I feel like I just caught a tailwind and I'm ready to tackle fifteen more days of this. If anyone is considering doing Whole30, it's intimidating to begin with, but the payoff is worth it.

In a short time, I've learned to appreciate beer in a different way and feel better about the culture as a whole. As they say, a little separation only makes the heart grow fonder. I've also amassed quite the lineup that's ready to be enjoyed when I'm done with this - the finish line is within spitting distance at this point.
