Alcoholic vs. Enthusiast

This excerpt from The West Wing is one of the best descriptions of alcoholism I've ever seen:

 

Well if I'm going to drink, I'm going to drink at least 1 bomber and usually more. It isn't uncommon at all for me to drink 3-5 bombers. Now I will only do this about once a week. And in the interim I will turn down 99% of non craft beer. A few years back I drank very heavily and it led to 2 dui's. At that point I was certainly an alcoholic. The DUIs opened my eyes and really forced me to be accountable for myself. I almost exclusively drink at home, and won't drive after even 1 beer of any style. So for those who do drink heavily, try and reign it in before it became a problem like it had for me.

As to a 4pk of iipa, that would be a pretty standard night for me, which is about once a week now for me.
