I noticed Good Beer was selling bottles of Sahalie, Sahiti and Capre Diem Mañana yesterday. Is this an NYC beer week thing, or will this become more frequent distribution? Price tags were quite steep ($39.99-$49.99) though.
it's not going to be regular distribution.. more of a once every few months kind of thing. Bottles only. The wholesale prices are EXPENSIVE
Yeah, I can't imagine they'll flood the market with bottles in the $40-$45 range. For me these would be a one-time buy.
they popped up on LI yesterday, similar prices though, Sahalie was 40 at my typically well priced store
There is an event tonight at Beer Street: https://www.facebook.com/events/230733163938209/232919863719539/
it's going to be an amazing event. I get those same emails he mentions in the event post. They spent SO MUCH on all those cases. I wonder how much the pours will be.
I can't figure out the bigger sucker on that Facebook event. The guy who ponied up >~$40 per bottle for cases of Ale Apothecary. Or the people he hopes to sell it on too tonight using all those superlatives and exaggerations.
HAHAHAHA. I know nothing about running/expanding/publicizing a brewery. But on what planet is temporarily expanding to NYC (they did the same for Denver last year around GABF time) at a price point of >$40 per bottle, retail, seem like good business sense? I know the beers are expensive (and the product is very good). But people who don't know about Ale Apothecary are going to think less of them at that price point.
