So I'll be in Lake Geneva at the end of the month and am looking for somewhere to go on my birthday. Has this expansion been completed? The website just says "2012 Expansion" and I can't seem to locate any dates of completion or something similar. Just looking to make sure I go to the right location once I'm up there.

    Cheers and thanks!

The Asylum is still at their original location - not exactly sure when the tap room will be open at the new location. The last time I chatted with them it was scheduled for late 2012 or early 2013.

I was over there the other day and one of the brewers said they were thinking they'd be up and running in October...

Yeah their new place won't be up by then but definitely stop by their current location! Easily my favorite brewery in Madison

Haven't tried those ones yet. Liked the Black Earth Porter and the Texas Speedbump IPA from them but haven't tried all of their offerings. I'll have to hit up Great Dane next time I'm up there.

My friend, you are missing out. Their Imperial IPA is pretty awesome for a brewpub, provided you dont mind a strongly hopped earthy caramel malt backbone to the beer. More importantly, the Dane's food is awesome and diverse. There's something for everyone. Im gonna be in madison from the 12-21 of July and I'm gonna be at the Dane every day I'm not at the Weary Traveler, Saigon Noodles or Taqueria Guadelajara

I really liked the Weary Traveler and I recommend The Roman Candle for some unique pizza. Also i'll have to grab dinner at the Dane next time, just stopped in for some pints and a plate of fries last time I was up there

I loooove their fries. "My thing" is the Mayan Chicken Wrap with Fries and their house BBQ on the side (for the fries). Make sure to goto the Hilldale location. 1) it's the "least busy" one during busier times (at least in my experience), 2) it's the only location with the IIPA.

Shucks I only went to their downtown location and it was super busy. This will all work out well for my next trip. Also I hope treebs is taking notes in the background
