Ale Asylum - New Beer

Excited about Napalm Bunny, imperial Velveteen. Bedlam needs the imperial treatment now!

 

Tried a bottle of 12 oz. Curl yesterday and really liked it. I will definitely be picking up some more next week.
My question for the lager experts on here: is it a good example of the pilsner style? The only other pilsner I've had recently was Half acre Pony, which was good but not as good as 12 oz. Curl.

 

I don't know where you are located in WI, but if you are in the Near the MI border or Green Bay area look for Blackrocks (Marquette, MI) Classic Pilsner. One of the best I've had. Firestone Walker's Pivo Pils is also amazing, if you are close to IL. For in state, look for New Glarus Edel-Pils, although it's not on the schedule for 2017 so don't hold your breath.

 

Aside from the haziness (it should be very clear, but who cares) it is very good flavor wise for a Pilsner. Compared it to Great Dane Pils, which I really enjoy. Honestly, there are many really good WI made Pilsners.

 

Napalm Bunny and Tears of My Enemies are out. Anyone had ToME?

 

Did I miss the packaged release of the Common Thread porter? Thought it was going to appear shortly after mad beer week. I had it on tap at the Vintage and at AA, and thought it was pretty good. I was looking forward to some to bring home, but never saw it anywhere.

 

Been trying to order it for a while and I keep getting told it's not available yet.
