Alerts when people I follow post

    Can I get alerts when people I follow post something or create a thread? Would be easier than going into my newsfeed, which I just found out existed.

    This would require tremendous resources, and an unwieldy amount of alerts.

    Even social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram don't offer this. They offer feeds.

    What is the reason for following a member on here? Is it only so that when they are online, we can see them listed on the main page as being online?

    Right now you can see if they're online and view their posts in your news feed, however, it'll have much more relevance with future site and app updates.
