Total Wine has AleSmith beers now. I think most in the area have them but check online. I picked up a Speedway Stout at TW Coral Springs for $12.99 earlier today and they seemed to have plenty more. They also have AleSmith IPA sixers ($11.99), Numskull BW, Nut Brown sixers, a couple of sixers of pale ale's, etc.
All those showing in stock at Tampa TW. Figuring the new Brandon TW will have them next week. Reviewers seem to love their stuff.
Just grabbed a single IPA, single nut brown and a speedway from Boca TW. They also had lil devil pale ale but passed. The IPA cases have a 7/12/16 date so wanted to grab a bottle to try while fresh as possible
Where did you read this? Tons of Ninkasi at my TW but seems like same stuff that's been sitting. Just want to know if I should grab a couple more IPA's
they had the stuff at Kendall TW, passed. IPAs didnt have a bottled on date for some reason though the rest did, had some code that said 6G16 so I assume they were bottled some time in June. Almost grabbed a Speedway Stout to age but I'm not much into regular imperial russian stouts or coffee stouts these days. I can remember TW down here having a one off of Evolution Brewing, Ninkasi as someone mentioned and Clown Shoes a few years back. Really wish Clown Shoes would distribute down here, I think they make some quality beers.
Bought a bunch of the Speedway Stout and Numskull BW from the Clearwater TW. They age well so not worried about freshness. Asked the beer manager the same question, "one time thing or is this a regular thing?" he responded with a dull look and a shrug... lol. I also asked about specialties like Hammerhead or other coffee specialties but he looked at me like I was speaking another language .
The IPA is quite tasty actually. I won't be rushing back to buy more, considering I have fresh Civil Society in the fridge, but would definitely recommend it to fans of IPAs. It is very smooth. Maybe more Amber in color than I remember Pliny being, I remember Pliny being clearer. Still a nice beer and would easily put back a couple on the beach or couch
If you look at the signage, it's all labeled "Brewery Direct." It's a program Total Wine uses to bring in products that are not distributed to specific areas. They use it for wine too. So, it is not a permanent thing. Once sold, it's gone.
There is a coupon in today's Tampa Bay Times for the grand opening of the Brandon store. $2 off any 4 or 6, $6.99 or higher, limit 4. SNPA or Torpedo $10.99/12 cans. Limit 2/12's. Good at Brandon and all "Tampa Area" stores, wherever that might be, 7/31 thru 8/21. Online code 2226. I believe AleSmith products apply.
Sorry for the late reply. A friend of mine that heads up beer for all TWs in the entire state said on his personal Instagram.
