Alesmith just blew me away...

    To each his own, I suppose, but I love this beer and would gladly part with $40 for it. When compared to others in that price range, I prefer it to all of the Bruery offerings and all of the FFF offerings (BVDL excepted). As for beers cheaper than it, I personally prefer it to most of the BA stout flag bearers with the notable exception of BBPT5 and BCBCS. So, yeah, I'd definitely prefer to have 6 BCBCS and/or 6 BBPT5 instead of 1 BASS, but not sure where I can pick those up on the shelf at the moment (that's a joke). Moreover, it's virtually indistinguishable from BA Kopi (even when drinking them side-by-side not blind), and I'm pretty sure there would be rioting in the streets if BA Kopi showed up on shelves in Wisconsin at $40/ea.

    Same price as it is to get in in the lottery and have it shipped by a mule. Its good to see more threads about the ridiculous beer prices. Hopefully they consider putting this in 4 packs in the future.

    It's freakin good no doubt. You Sconnie's ought to pick up a bottle just in case you never see it again and save it for a special occasion or something. I drank mine after Aaron Rodgers threw that bomb to Cobb in the Bears-Pack game last season (transplanted Packer fan here).

    I think she said it was because Wisconsin generally has really good Alesmith sales, so they wanted to give us something we haven't gotten before. There's only a few states East of the Mississippi that get Alesmith distro. Even considering this was ~$40, I think it's been selling relatively well. I bought 2 bottles and I'll either save them for special occasions, or use one in a trade someday.

    Not really a shelf turd when most stores sold out in 2-3 days. You can find some of the other BA Alesmith stuff around, but this one got scooped up pretty quick in Madison. Bonus fact: Our store got a few inquiries from San Diego asking if we'd ship because they can't get it there.

    Kopi was spectacular, BA is awesome, normal speedway is very good. But yeah, BA speedway is around in WI for $40.

    The coffee flavor faded on Kopi almost immediately. Not worth it if you see it now.

    The bottle pictured is "regular" BA Speedway.
