Is the sale at the tasting room only?

 

Yesterday they had BA Decadence 2011. I actually wanted that one, but couldn't make it over there to pick up.

Today's Kopi disappeared in 15 minutes, according to their Facebook page. Other than for trivia, I don't think this thread will pass on any useful information. Abby isn't announcing what the beer is until opening on any particular day (and on Tuesday they didn't announce it at all), and most people can't even drive there before the beers disappear. The only way you really can do this is by getting their at opening and taking your chances. Worst case scenario, you don't want to buy, but at least you still can have a few consolation drinks (or brown bag your lunch to make it honest).

I don't believe Alesmith has ever sold beer through its website. Just swag.

 

They have sold a bunch of beers through Brown Paper Tickets.

 

BA Decadence was $32, IIRC.

Am I off by a year? I thought that the barrel aged "disgusting stuff" came out much better, but that was what released last fall. Is it the 2010 BA Decadence (which was an old ale) that was supposedly so good?

 

2010 BA Decadence is the old ale; one of my favorite BA releases from Alesmith in the past two years (sadly, 2 bottle limit). 2011 BA Decadence is the maple smoked ale, which I didn’t like in non-BA form but I thought the BA version really dialed down the smoke character.

 

When do you think the BA 2010 will show up?

 

TBH, I wouldn’t count on it for the library series, since they only allowed 2 per allocation for the original sale (even BA Kopi had higher allocations). However, since they recently made the Old Ale a once-a-year beer, I’d expect to see it in barrels eventually – I’m really hoping for BA Old Ale to become a yearly release.

 

The BA version was delicious.

 

Is anyone planning on going every day / <5 min away? I work out in Poway so it is just far enough away for me to not be able to make it.

I would love to strike up a deal with someone for some speedway variants.

 

Looking for pretty much any non-barrel aged and maybe one older BA bottle.

I don't want to trade for these bottles, I was just hoping to buy them a pint in gratitude.

 

What did they have today? I may try and drop by one day next week if I have time. Is it worth going by around 2-3 or is it necessary to get there right at 12?

 

I heard it was BA Kopi & it was gone in less than 5 minutes.
