caged weasel tears is what makes whales taste better, IMO.

This release is so disappointing. I love it when they have 2-3 offerings and I keep hoping for a nice $18 Vanilla or Coconut Speedway.

I just hope that they will keep putting the Double Hammerhead on tap and eventually bottle it.

I got a bottle of this off the shelf at my fave bottle shop for $10.99:

Haven't tried it yet, but it sounds intriguing.

That's why I ask. If he confirms that animals have souls that would indicate that humans might also have souls.

I would think it should make it cheaper. Sorry, but imho Mikkel is not that great with his stouts...as opposed to his evil twin at least
I'm still curious about Kopi. I never had a chance to try the coffee, so maybe I'll start with beer.

Their diluting coffee into a 12% imperial stout at probably about 1 to 10 ratio.
Anybody who thinks they can taste the benefit of kopi coffee is a moron.

So therefore regular Speedway should taste exactly the same as Viet Speedway which tastes exactly the same as JBM Speedway which tastes exactly the same as Kopi Speedway?

    Hmmm.....

Benefit? I'm not sure what that means.

But if you're saying that I shouldn't be able to tell the difference between all the variants (reg, JBM, Kopi, other stuff they've done like Nicaraguan) I think you're full of shit. All coffee is not equal.

Not saying they don't or won't taste different, they do and they are delicious.
But the differences tasted are more likely to come from the roast, grind, brew, or blend of the coffee rather than the fact that they exited a weasels anus or were grown on an isolated island.

They are diluting it down too far (in a roasty 12% beer no less) to taste any difference that would stem from the origin of the green bean.

Curious about it myself. I could definitely taste the benefit of the coffee used in bcbcs '13 as opposed to '14. The tasting notes of the coffee used are definitely different (keeping in mind that the abv of the beer is a little different too), but I'm not sure if that's the "benefit" mentioned here. Or maybe there are some attributes of the Kopi beans that can only be recognized in the actual brewed coffee, not in a 12% abv solution.

All the nuances that can be detected from variables like origin, grind, roast, and brewing method are lost when the coffee is diluted. They can be subtle to your average person doing a taste test of freshly brewed coffee. To suggest that those same nuances can be detected as an adjunct in a strong beer is nonsense. It would be akin to claiming that using an expensive wine must be used instead of a cheap wine like a Charles Shaw cab. There are studies that prove most people can't taste the difference.

You know if this is just for release or is Alesmith switching to Mostra for all their coffee now?

Hope not. I like Ryans Bros a lot and conveniently there is always a keg of Speedway on at their cafe.

Maybe its just for their variant releases.

Do you guys remember how the owner of Hillfarmstead said a long time ago in an article about people selling on ebay how he keeps his prices low because that is how it should be. (Paraphrasing). Now he is charging this price...........
