AleSmith Speedway in IL

    I was up at Woodmans in Kenosha today picking up some NG brews when to my surprise I saw some AleSmith Speedway Stout. I had no idea it was distributed to Wisconsin. So when I got home, I checked seekabrew.com and Wisconsin and Illinois are listed as full distribution. Has anyone ever seen this anywhere in Chicagoland? I quick search on BeerMenus.com turns up nothing nearby. I checked Binnys.com and it actually appeared on the search and it showed up as 'Not Available' in all Chicago locations, but it was listed as 'Limited, Please Call' in the two Central IL locations (Champaign and Bloomington). So, it seems like they stay away from Chicagoland, wonder why?

    I have no idea why, but I found some at Artale in Rockford last weekend.

    I've seen it in Kankakee but no further north than that.

    There is no distro for Alesmith in chicagoland. Only outside of chicago.

    Kinda weird right...

    I'm an hour west of downtown, we've get Speedway in every good liquor store around here. Year round.

    And yep, Ballast Point was the same, until this year.

    I guess ya'll get HA though and we don't, eh?

    When I was at Binny's & Friar Tuck in Champaign area before Thanksgiving they had the full line up including Speedway. The distributor is Peoria based so it's all over central IL not Chicago.

    AleSmith is everywhere in Illinois except for Chicago... Unconventional from every other brewery... hahaha...

    Closest I've found-Kankakee! I went down there a few months ago and grabbed a bunch of Speedway Stout. If you head down there go, the store that carried them had an AMAZING selection of stuff very hard to find in Chicagoland. It might be available in De Kalb though.

    I always buy Alesmith when I pass through Springfield to see my family. Love their IPA.

    Yea, right next to the Black Tuesday. :slight_smile: I wish we got brewery only releases like that.

    I like your name though :grinning: Although I am old school, while I have 2 kuts from the man himself, I prefer the starting material :wink:

    HAHA your the first to get it! Its been about two years since ive been kicking it with man. Everything else is just an ingredient now haha! Let me know if your ever at a tasting In Chi! Im in the Logan Square area.

    I just went to this place for the first time this weekend. Just moved into the area, and it's a pretty nice spot. Friendly people who run the place. Nice selection and prices.... and AleSmith (to stay on topic...hahah)...
