Hey BAs quick question.. I picked up a couple of these today and apparently the 2012 bottle has a redesigned label and I'm not sure which version it is; It just says that it's Ryan Bros. coffee beans, can you tell me which of the coffee variations it is?

    Thanks![IMG]

Its always brewed with Ryan Bros. The only other bottle variation was Kopi Luwak but that was brewery release only.

There is 5 variations of coffee Speedway though, I know it's not the Kopi or any of those, andI don't think it's the Brewer's Blend or Finca San Gabriel Bourbon so it must be the Papua New Guinea, Vietnamese or Double Coffee...Just curious which if anyone knows about the new label

No, I have a regular Speedway, also. This label is different and this says brewed with coffee under the logo

If you could write a full sentence of information with any kind of answer with explanation that would be awesome. I've never had it that's why I'm asking for help. On untapped the same bottle was called the Brewer's Blend. I don't think it's the Brewer's Blend. If you have a couple minutes I'd appreciate the knowledge but the short non-helpful comments don't help.

When I was down at AleSmith, I made personal friends with Peter and the Ryan Bros. They affirmed that their coffee is always used in Speedway Stout. When Peter used Kopi Luwak coffee, I personally congratulated him when I went to pick up the bottles. He acted like he didn't remember me, lol... He's a kidder! Once my friend, always my friend.

It's always been made with a bunch of coffee. In the past the bottles never specified where/who the coffee came from, even though it likely has been Ryan Bros for a while. The bottle you bought at the store is the regular version, it just says "Ryan Brothers Coffee" now. The brewers blend hasn't been bottled AFAIK, someone probably entered it in the wrong spot on Untappd.

Thank you! I'm less excited but I guess now I can have different years side by side; the silver lining. So they didn't bottle the other variations, all brewery only releases?

It's the same as the old speedway. They've just changed the wrapping color from Silver to Grey..

That's normal Speedway. It's always said on the back, in the last sentence of the first paragraph, that it was brewed with Ryan Bros. coffee.

Yes I have seen both bottles, and it is in fact regular Speedway, which is NOT a bad thing.

Only bottled ones (so far) are the regular and it's barrel aged version, and the Kopi along with it's BA. They'll likely be doing more in the future fwiw.

Just got the same one and can't wait to open it either on the 4th of July or as my 1700th beer.
