Alewerks Pumpkin in Philly...WTF

    So I was just up in Philly this weekend, and scored a whole case of Alewerks Pumpkin at Bella Vista. There were cases piled up upon each other.

    I'm originally from Philly, so I love my SEPA... But...no offense... WTF is wrong with you people? I had to search all around NoVA for this beer, which was sold out everywhere. Maybe you guys don't realize how fantastic it is?

    I recommend going and buying some now, if you like pumpkin beer at all. It is one of the best I've ever had, and Bella Vista had tons of it. But at least thanks for letting it sit on the shelves here for a while, so I could get some more. :wink:

    Philly just got it last week. I had been holding out on pumpkin beers this year until this came. (Check the date on the case)

    Not sure where you usually shop, but out in the 'burbs I picked it up back in mid-September.

    It was scarce in the peak of pumpkin season and then the area got flooded with it the week after Halloween. Go figure. Just like how Warlock was difficult to come by and then flooded the area after Halloween too.

    The first shot was back in September, this was a bonus.

    Happens a lot with a lot of different beers and different wholesalers.

    Could be the Brewery made more.

    Could be the brewery was saving some for a different market and they did not take their allotment.

    Could be a another market did not sell well and they transferred it to Philly.

    Could be the wholesaler had it on allocation and certain accounts did not take it and now they are releasing it.

    Those are four reasons and their are many more, that's they only ones I can think of after 3 Blind Pigs up at Teresa's.

    now back to work . . . .
