Got one randomly as a gift last year and it blew me away. It was last made in 1995 I believe but I've never seen any trades on here, I have to imagine it would take some serious wales or a true white wale to land one. Good luck!

I almost pulled the trigger on a bottle from the bay a few months back, but the price was just too much for me at around 75 bucks. There was also a bottle of vin de cereale for sale at a similar price. Not ideal, but an option as they may pop back up for sale.

This seems to be one of those "Roos" type things where the beer name was entered wrong and people just kind of went with it. About the beer itself, it's good but quite old at this point and pretty thinned out. Actually quite sweet along with the sour cherries and a lot of herbal flavors. Pretty good but the "Vintage" Rodenbach bottles (2007 and 2008) are way better now in my opinion. I don't know what people trade for it.

The "Vintage" beers are similar in flavor profile to Alexander? That's a damn shame.

They're not all that similar, I just think they're better right now.

Alexander is a Flanders Red, right? Is the special part about it just its age? I honestly haven't looked into the beer at all.

Rodenbach is the brewer name, so saying "Alexander Rodenbach" would be like saying "Beatification Russian River". Beer Advocate is the only place I've seen it put this way.

Oh I thought you were implying some sort of misspelling. I guess I'm the Todd Louiso to your Jack Black.

Well, if mistakenly putting a "the" at the front of a name is equal to getting the brewery name mixed up with the beer name, then you're right.

A friend of mine bought the last case available in Rochester many moons ago - it was his favorite beer at the time. It was a controversial beer - a lot of people loved it but it also got a lack of respect from others who trashed it for what they thought was too much of an artificial cherry flavor.

I personally loved it as well and one of these days, we'll get around to trying what we have left. Later on, Rodenbach made a beer called Redbach which was a poor substitute for Alexander. We can only hope they bring back Alexander at some point.

By the way JAXSON, I remember the beer being referred to as Alexander Rodenbach at the time or just Alexander but never Rodenbach Alexander. Not that it is a big deal now  Cheers!

Redbach was just a poor version of a Flander's, kind of like Liefman's.
