Anyone else going to be in Duluth, MN for the festivities this weekend? We went last year for the first time in five years & had a blast - the breweries had really upped their game. Hoping the same is true this year but either way, there are a number of breweries I've never sampled & the venue right on the water is great. Doesn't look like there's much for pre-parties on Friday. Ursa Minor is having an event & Surly is having a tap takeover at St. Ben's but not much info on either.
Sold out, I was think of going up to Superior this Saturday anyhow. https://www.mncraftbrew.org/event/all-pints-north/ Plan was to hit Anchor for a burger as soon as they opened up and then earth rider, plus maybe Thirsty Pagan later
Yeah, seems like a lot of local beer festivals 'sell out' a few days before the event. I've always wondered if this is a marketing ploy or just a weird coincidence.
All Pints North is always a good time. Some breweries need to put some more effort into what they bring. 4 flagship beers that are easy to get/find. Talking to you Schell's. 4 beers, all smoothie sours. Really, Wild Mind?
Not sure what is going on with Schells. I may be their biggest fan boy but it is getting harder and harder to feel that way with their great offerings like Schell Bock and Hefe hard to find, their poor website and their poor attempts at brew festivals. Although I did find Firebrick on tap in Perham today and it was wonderful!
I followed the Plan somewhat,on the way I watered the wild deer early in the morning, none were waiting for there water this time. not hot enough yet, the last time I watered 5 of them came a running. To them cigarette smoke means wasser time. Next I took the scenic route and went to Cumberland, stopped a Louie's meats and loaded up. I didn't get to Anchor till about 12:30, ate my burger and then went to Earth Rider. Drink a Rye Pilsner and a Amber Ale, bought a 6 pack of each for home. Next I went to Wisconsin Point, got some sun and walked bare foot in the sand. Plenty of Poison Ivy there too. Then I went to The Pagan there Pilsner was solid. No Pagan pizza for me, I have decided it's too spicy hot. I had old school double cheese VIP pizza instead. By the time I got home I was done and almost fell into the bed.
We were at a swanky craft bar last week & I passed everything else on the menu when I saw Firebrick on tap. It's been a while! It is. The beer wasn't as incredible as last year but there was plenty of fun to be had. Disappointed that Disgruntled didn't show up at all - just a blank table & chairs in their spot at the Fest. They were our favorite in '21.
