Drove by Cobra Lounge last Thursday and saw All Rise Brewing there in the parking lot, looked like a giant mash tun or something. Does anyone have any info on this new Chicago brewer? Thanks.

Cobra Lounge has had plans to open their own brewery for a while. Used to be called Greyskull Brewing, they had a beer at Riot Fest last year named Greyskull Wonder Beer. It was nothing special from what I remember, but I won't judge them based on that one beer.

Any one have any updates? I drove by a couple of nights ago through Fulton and saw the mash tuns in the back. they looked like they were almost done. their site only shows as 'coming soon' and their facebook page doesn't show much.
this is the first i hear of this.

Yeah they had Wonder Beer and a blonde ale at Riot Fest. Wonder Beer was a pretty decent pale ale. At least good enough to get drunk on while listening to some metal.

Wonder Beer was like a Zombie Dust clone. Pretty good but nothing incredible. The Blonde Ale was sort of like Half Acre Gossamer if I remember correctly. They're easily the best beers you could get at Riot Fest and they only had one booth tucked away by the main stage. With how much Riot Fest tries to give back to Chicago I'm hoping for this year they feature more local breweries and not Dos Equis.

They need to rework the park layout. It took about 20 minutes to go from one end to the other, so it made it impossible to see fulls sets of bands that were back to back.

And they need to start caring about the VIP ticket holders some more. Two years ago was awesome. Good amount of beer included, VIP areas by the stage were in good locations, well worth it. Last year was a joke. Less beer, the viewing areas were pathetic. They were so far off to the side of every stage that you could barely see the stage, and the sound was horrible at that angle. I saw they once again cut down the amount of beer for next year, so I snagged only general tickets. Awesome festival, but they need to make sure they don't piss everybody off.

I heard the reason for the layout last year was because the promoters thought they were going to get the entire north end of the park to work with when it was originally planned. Then the city wouldn't allow them to the whole area, so it caused them to re-arrange the layout later on. So hopefully they won't have that issue this year.

That makes sense. And I guess the rain turning the park into a mud-pit didn't help matters either.
I wonder how they fixed that place up. It was literally destroyed after that weekend.

The worst part about the navigation was that the mud forced everyone onto the road. It was pretty miserable last year.
