Besides using their "find our beer" tool on their website, can anybody recommend any bottle shops in NJ, specifically Northern NJ that carries any Allagash that gets shipped to distributors? When Farm to Face came out, I had to hound local shops, and I'm worried that I missed James and Julie altogether. Any suggestions/recommendations would be very much appreciated! I don't want to miss their next national release, Evora.
Hoboken Vine gets most Allagash releases. They got James and Julie in on Tuesday according to their facebook
Allasgash is distributed statewide by Hunterdon - so, any store that carries beers in their huge portfolio can order Allagash beers (obviously, when there is a limited supply, the stores that routinely stock the brand are going to be first in line).
Thank you sir, I do not live that close to Hoboken, but it would be worth the trip to get some bottles.
Yeah best bet would be to figure out which stores in your area have a good relationship with hunterdon. Hunterdon usually posts a list of new releases each Thursday or Friday although it's not always correct and just because something is on the list doesn't mean your local can get it. I've had good luck with BK Ramsey and Glen Ridge and also Beverage Barn in Northvale. But that's just in the past.
I've had mixed results finding Allagash Sours. I've walked into Shoprite Liquors in Caldwell the day of a Cloverleaf Event and seen the entire case on a shelf (Nancy) and for others like FV13 and Merveilleux, got shut out at many places. I missed James and Julie at my local store and not sure if I will find any on the shelf at other locations. Had no problems finding Farm To Face, Nancy, Golden Brett, Midnight Brett, Cuvee'. Think I may have just scored a bottle of James and Julie from a buddy in central Jersey.
Same for me! The Fairway on 46 usually has any new Allagash, but they didn't even know about James and Julie. Another store, Angelbecks in Montclair used to have some good Allagash but didn't get anything new. Glen Ridge isn't that far from me, I'll see if they have something. Thanks for the recommendations!
Gary's on Route 23 in Wayne had some James & Julie yesterday afternoon. I meant to pick a bottle up but my hands got full and I forgot.
@SammyJaxxxx thanks for the heads up, I'll head there tomorrow to see if they still have it. I called them a week ago and they also acted like I was an idiot when I asked if they had it.
I've found 3 Evora's. 1 at Liquor outlet in Boonton, 1 from Bottle King in Middletown and 1 from the Manager at Poor Henry's. I hope to crack one open tomorrow during the Super Bowl.
Allagash said today Little Brett will hit distro next week. Where did you get Hive? I thought they came out last week.
I got 56 at Fairway in Little Falls. You might be right, I might have been late on that. Lots of Sixteen Counties at both Fairway and Gary's in Wayne if anybody is looking to purchase that. Thanks for the head's up on the Little Brett. Thanks for the head's up! I really liked it, so I might make the trip to get another bottle.
