I'm taking a random long weekend trip to Maine next week. I did my usual beer/event search and saw Allagash is having a 20th Anny Street Fair, so naturally I bought tix. $10 for entry and a beer, then purchases of beers (De La Senne, Bissell Bros., Otter Creek, New Belgium, Geary's, Foundation, Austin Street, Dogfish, Sierra Nevada) and food. Sounds like a good deal and minimal commitment if I want to check it out and move on. Have they ever done something like this in the past? If so, how was it?
This is their 20th anniversary party, so this is a first as far as I know. I have been to numerous Allagash events and they have all been outstanding, so I expect this to be as well.
I'm looking forward to it. I was just going to do the Industrial Park drive through and saw this. The last time I was up there, Maine Beer Co. was still there. It's been a while. Sounds like Allagash will be pouring some nice beers - Fluxus 2015, House, White, Cuvee d'Industrial, Century and Aventereux.
Will most likely head up since its not too far. My wifes cousin works around the corner so this is a perfect chance for all of us to hang out with some other friends. Only issue is my lady is 4 months pregnant. Looks like food and fun for her and an extra beer ticket for me
if Allagash is releasing any of the Coolship beers, get as many as you can. The Resurgam was one of the best if not the best beer I've ever tasted.
My wife and I are taking a random trip up that weekend too and noticed this fair. Pretty pumped. I hope Foundation/Bissel and tap rooms will be open normal hours.
I am torn on this one. We are in Portland for 3 nights around the street fair after spending 5 nights in Bar Harbor. There are sooo many food and beer places we want to hit in Portland, that I am not sure I want to commit to making it out to the street fair. Plus, I am worried about the hassle of getting out there from Old Port with 2 kids. Anyone have thoughts on this? Do people in Portland tend to buy tickets to events like this ahead of time or will we be ok making a last minute decision and getting tickets at the event? Any thoughts on what the shuttle they will be running will be like? Can't throw the toddlers into uber because of car seats.
I already asked Bissell and they will be open. Didn't get a chance to reach out to Foundation yet. And yes, Allagash will not be open to the public aside from the fair.
Twitter (Allagash, 6/15): "Did we mention there will be beer at our Street Fair on 6/27? Fluxus, White, Cuvée, House, Century and Aventureux!"
Awesome. I haven't Cuvée, House, Aventureux, or this year's Fluxus yet. On Facebook they say it's a "golden ale with maple syrup and experimental hops."
