Allagash Visit

Tiarna should still be there and maybe some straggling Midnight Brett.

 

As of Saturday, there was Tierna only for special bottles. Midnight Brett was on the fifth tap that you need to ask for.

Co-sign here. I'll be up tomorrow for a few hours, planning on hitting up Bissell, Allagash and Maine. Hoping to come home with some bottles (or cans).

 

@mattosgood, be sure to hit up Foundation (next door to Bissel) & Austin Street as well (back of building that Bissell is in). That industrial park is really blowing up.

 

Any beers available to take home that you recommend?

 

Austin Street had Crushable IPA on last weekend, which was really lived up to the name. Foundation does farmhouse style ales, and had a standard saison and a nice farmhouse IPA on last week, both of which were tasty. You can do samples at both of them for $1 each. Both only do growler fills currently.

 

Is Maine a state that fills their own growlers or others as well?

 

Unfortunately, Maine Brewers can only fill their own growlers

 

I'm assuming there are still bottles of Neddles at Allagash too.

 

I went to Foundation today. They have their two staples, Eddy and Blaze. They also had three small batch beers: The Juicer IPA, a Saison infused with ginger, and a Citra dry-hopped Saison.

Austin Street posted on fb they are out of growlers. I believe Catherine DIPA is back on.

I'm not sure what Bissell Brothers has on tap but don't expect to go home with any cans.

Allagash sold out of Neddles Wednesday.

 

I'm planning to head back to Foundation and Austin Street tomorrow. I have plenty of bottles of Allagash House Beer left over from when they restocked their retail shop the first week of June if any of you MA guys heading up here are interested. Not looking for anything in return, just looking to spread the love. BM me if interested.

 

I'm thinking Great Lost Bear for WC, beers and grub tonight. Food any good there?

 

Food is between fine and good. I have been less than pleased with the Bear recently though. Hit some dirty tap lines there last time I was there which was a super shitty experience.

I would recommend Salvage instead if BBQ is up your alley. 4 dollar Weinstephaner lagers during the games, more interesting tap list than GLB anyway...

 

I would be suprised if they still had Neddles they had 1200 and sold way over 1000 on Monday
