I just talked to Derek about this today. Be prepared for a wallet drain. Pricey. Just what I need. sigh

12.99 for a two pack including this Bourbon Sour Porter and another variant on craftshack....I wouldn't consider than a wallet drain...am I wrong? How much are they going for single bottles?

I picked up a bottle @ Beer Junction for $11, I don't have it handy but it looked to be a 375mL or maybe 12oz. So, less than Russian River sours back when we could get them, and comparable to some Cascade offerings.

Yeah, retail is $10.99 for the 375mL. Any barrel aged sour for under $15 bucks is a fine deal for me.

I agree. Not bad. Was pure speculation on my part.

Now is probably not the time to bring up New Glarus' pricing on superior barrel aged products.

Loved farm-to-barrel #3 and #4 but barrel noir and the sour porter were bleh to me

Cost of doing business and cost of fruit and such are certainly much higher in San Francisco than New Glarus, WI. Which isn't to say your point is untrue ... but they also have 17 more years experience. ;-)

This shit is plain repulsive. Almost dumped it based on the movie theater butter smell alone. The taste is even worse. Think somewhat sour, bourbon infused butter.. Not kidding. Farmers Reserves were so good.. Not sure what went wrong here.

i cracked mine open last night and thought it was fantastic.

bad bottles out there, maybe? i saw another review on untappd that said the same thing... i tasted a solid coffee, bourbon, and slightly sour beer. no buttery flavor or aroma. hell, i'll pick up another bottle of this just to make sure.

"Infected" bottles maybe... Yeah you woulda known if yours tasted like this. One of the worst things I've ever tasted. I bought 2 so I'll have to try the other. Untapped review was prob me or my old lady last night around 8ish

I have two, first one was pretty fine although I was expecting more bourbon, I thought the tartness went well with the roastiness.

I hate 'dark sours' - the clash of roasty and sour somewhat repulses me. Very few exceptions that I've found...
