Almanac Dogpatch Sour

Mission Wine and Spirits in Pasadena got some in and just posted it on Facebook an hour or so ago. Had about 4 left after I picked up some. Dunno if they had more in back.

 

I'm not so sure. Just spoke to one of my local spots. He tried to order it on Monday and was told that they were sold out.

 

Mr K's looked to have about 3 cases, so not quite as much as #3 which they still have multiple cases of.

 

Mr K's ordered #3 in waves though. They sold out rather quickly of #3 and #4, and proceeded to order something like ten more cases of #3.

 

first week newly release beer are usually hard allocation so all store gets one case or more. second week i think it depends on how good of connection store owner has with the distributor.

 

Just picked some up at Beverage Warehouse in Marina Del Rey. They had 2 or 3 cases.

 

Thanks for mentioning Mr. K's. I was able to pick up a few bottles last night after picking up some Bruery allocations. Never would have guessed that place had beer worth checking out by the front.

 

Looks like the distributor sold out of Dogpatch Sour in just 3 days. Too bad because I wanted more cases

 

Anyone know how it tastes yet?

 

I can chime in here and confirm (I work at Almanac) that the overall numbers for Dogpatch Sour are similar to Farmer's Reserve #3 (so, more than Farmer's #4). That being said, it's selling out very quickly (presumably because people have been enjoying the sours -- thanks to those who have given them a shot!).

We have another new beer that will be on shelves very soon as well. Heirloom Pumpkin Barleywine -- a 12%abv spiced barleywine with roasted pumpkins, 50% aged in brandy barrels. After that, look for a few single-varietal wet hop beers.

had a bottle today. It's damn good. Nice and tart. Not vinegary. definitely gonna look for some (this was had at a bottleshare)

 

No problem.When i first walked in that store I thought it was just small mom and pop store. I was just surprised to see craft beer all over the place.

 

picked some up today at hollingshed. they had two cases.

 

Has anyone cracked one already? I grabbed 2 at a 2 bottle limit- want to be sure I get a couple more before I go popping the tops.

 

drinking one right now. it's delicious. a bit more sour than 3 and 4. I'm going to buy more tomorrow

 

Gotta land some of this, ASAP

 

Looks like the consensus is telling me I Must buy a lot of this. Okay.
