I think you have #3 and #4 flipped. 3 was strawberry, 4 is the crazy citrus one.

Texas Liquor and the Pizza Port Bottle shop stock them, they go quick. Yesterday Texas got their shipment of Dogpatch. Pizza Port didn't have any yet.

Aside from how great these beers have been, I really appreciate the packaging too. If I knew nothing about beers and saw one of these bottles next to let's say a bottle of Temptation, I'd feel compelled to get the Almanac based on the handsome design.

Texas is expensive, but the extra $1 per bottle is fine with me since I live near it. Not worth saving $4-8 if I have to search for it.

On another note Texas sells their Pliny for $5 now, which is nice since they get shipments weekly it seems. Pizza port still sells it for $6.50

How much is texas selling them for?

5 is what plinny should go for everywhere. I hate when places sell them for more

Not too difficult to find #3 and #4 on the shelves here in SD, but Dogpatch seems to be a bit more difficult to get. Spending the weekend in Orange County this weekend--Weezer!--so planning to hit Bruery. Appreciate the tip on Mr. K's. Perhaps I can score some Dogpatch there. Cheers.

I stopped by California Heights Market today and Raza said he refused the order. California Craft (the distributor) cut their order from three cases of Dogpatch (the original case max) to one. Then they charge a fee if you don't order at least five cases. Since CA Craft basically distributes only Almanac, he didn't want a bunch of the other stuff (Saison, chocolat, etc). He was so pissed that he pulled out his computer to show me the emails.

Disappointing to hear that CA Craft seems to be playing games with their customers. Sounds like everyone is getting cut to one case and is being forced to either pay a fee or order four cases of the beers they don't want. Raza didn't want to pay the fee (he claims $25) and then pass along a ~$2 surcharge to his customers.

Yeah, that's really shady. And California Craft is getting Crooked Stave. Here's hoping that the brewers can gently suggest to CA Craft that they treat stores a little better than this...

Hey this is Mike from Mr. K's. I haven't been active on this site as much. I will make sure you get this bottle when you swing by my store. Thank you for everyone's great support. Cheers.

I loved both #3 and #4. I'd probably say #3 is better but #4 did a better job of exhibiting the fruit (got a ton of citrus vs. a more subdued strawberry/stone fruit flavor).

It's cause Amy from CBD is trying to make money by charging fees lately. She sent that email to numerous people she even tried to do it to Jazz @ El Cerrito & he called her out on it & said no give me my 3 cases you promised cause she wanted to send one case and then a couple weeks later send more cases so she can charge for the delivery fee. CBD is distributing Almanac, Gigantic, 50/50, Crooked Stave, Drakes but their portfolio is so small their just trying to make more money by charging fees and splitting up orders.

Bingo. I didn't want to say it. They seem like nice people and have put together a nice portfolio of breweries (add Cascade to your list). But, like you said, it seems like they are trying to collect additional fees by breaking up orders. We could be wrong but on the surface that's the way it seems.

No, this is the story it seems. Heard it from a few places and now seems to be others here. Sad, because they actually have a nice set of breweries but the distribution is truly hurting said breweries.

I've thoroughly enjoyed all these Almanac beers, and would like to save a few bottles of each to try down the road and share with family. Problem is, every time I buy one... it's too damn enticing! I drink it the first couple of nights, then find every store out of stock. So more than anything it's not about hype, doubting the quality, or the "cocaine-esque" rush of mass collecting-- it's about my lack of willpower.

That's pretty presumptuous. For me it's not about owning multiples- I actually buy 4 of every beer so that I can smash 3 bottles and increase the rarity of my singular bottle. What difference is it to you?

Saw some at Provisions Market tonight, along with some #3. Unfortunately they realized their error in charging $6.49 for these beers and now have them at $10.59. Which seems to be the going price, but I was hoping to get another steal like I first did with #3 & #4.
