Has anyone seen these around? Got a couple bottles recently (Chinook and Cluster). They were awful. I am amazed that a brewery could make such awesome stuff (the sours), yet fail on so many levels in the IPA department. I will never buy anything hoppy from this brewery again.

Only had the cascade one. It was okay but not worth the price compare to over IPAs in that ($9) price range that are available here. Not likely to buy again.

Had the Chinook on tap recently and was seriously underimpressed. Love their sours, though, and the Pumpkin.

other than their sours and the pumpkin, I've been completely underwhelmed with their beers. Not really a fan of the barrel noir either. Maybe they should just stick to the sours.

Tail of 2 beers IMO. Barrel Noir out of the bottle was a lot of "eh, meh". On tap though, it was absolutely fantastic. As for these beers, single hop beers have never been that great/exciting IMO. Triple rock does a SHE series and outside of it being interesting to isolate the hop flavor profile the beers are very under whelming. I view this more as a palate training than a good beer to drink.

I actually think the base recipe of the IPAs aren't bad, if a bit too sweet. The hopping, on the other hand, leaves a ton to be desired.

Almanac has the most schizophrenic beer lineup in recent memory. These IPAs should be avoided.

Had all 3 and they were terrible.

You all are being quite harsh.

These IPAs are some of the best Wet Hooped San Jose Gypsy Brewed Northern California IPAs I have had for some time.

I had all 3 last week. They were ok. Wasn't terrible, but there are a lot more IPA options on the shelf that I would rather buy. Not as good as their sours that's for sure. They were $8 for each 750ml bottle

Yeah, my friends were RAVING about the Barrel Noir, I thought it was bland and watery for a big ale.

I really like all their sours and the pumpkin, too.

The IPAs are decent for a single hop, but the low bottle limits everywhere were a blessing to all involved.

I was a bit disappointed. I get the single hop thing, but even within that constraint the beers seemed a bit lacking in flavor.

Societe's single hop beers are superb. Haven't tried the Almanac ones yet, and have been weary about doing so. Thanks to this thread, I will probably pass - too many other good beers to try.

I enjoyed the Cluster, I'd have to say.

I had the Casacde recently on tap and thought it was solid. Certainly wasn't mind blowing, but in no way was it terrible either.
