Today's experiment ... Made some almond butter using almonds, a little olive oil and some milk stout. Then I put some of that in a french press and poured in 12 oz of Black Hog Nitro Coffe Milk Stout. It is now sitting in the fridge. Will press it in a couple of hours to see how it comes out.

Sounds odd, let us know how that turns out. Are you going to carbonate that? or drink it flat?

Italian craft brewers use nuts. Their stuff can be very interesting ... just expensive.

Technically, you can infuse any edible food into beer, that includes almonds. I don't think it's unusual though, you should try it and let us know.

I've used the French press for a lot of beers. I tend to find that it isn't the best, if you don't have a way to recarbonate the beer (I force carbonate it using a soda carbonator).

As far as infusing with nuts go from a homebrew standpoint, you'll want a way to extract the flavor and not have the fat get into the beer. The fat in almonds will be bad for head retention, etc.
