First post in home Brewing, hope nobody has talked about this recently.
Has anyone tried adding almonds to secondary in an IPA. I was thinking about toasting, pulverizing, and steeping almonds in an IPA alongside vanilla for my secondary.
Any thoughts on how this could go terribly wrong or right?

Same thread I was going to point to. Sounds like a challenge to get what is perceived as almond flavor from actual almonds.

Thanks for the advice. The thread, and almost all other almond threads, talk about porters, stouts, etc. And never lighter beers like IPAs.
Didn't know if there was a good reason why not.

I don't see any reason why it would go terribly wrong. But I predict you will be disappointed. There is a reason you don't see a lot of almond IPA's out there. Good luck man.

I'm curious, have you had an IPA or light beer with an almond flavoring, or you're just experimenting to see what you get? I've never seen one to even think about trying to brew one. Maybe breweries have tried it and failed and that's why there aren't many/any examples out there? I think I'd like almond flavoring in a dark beer, but a light or hoppy beer? Doesn't excite me, but your tastes are different from mine, or you have more guts to experiment.
